A lot went into the Dark Matter SPS Surf Spinning Rods. Over the years we have made a diverse line of surf rods that anglers love but we had never made a series that was under $250. If we were going to make something that was accessable to a wider range of anglers it had to meet the Dark Matter standards. It must deliver high performance, great style and value to the angler. That is something that just doesn't exist in a surf rod for less than $200 - until now! We started with the rod actions and tuned them until they were perfect. Next we worked on the look. Dark Matter is known for our beautiful designs so we painted the blank a glossy black and used a beautiful shade of blue with white accents for the wraps. We paid close attention to the transitions on this series to make sure it was streamlined and comfortable. There is nothing bulky on these rods. The fore and rear grips are shrinktube for durability. At the base on the foregrip is small amount of EVA for added comfort. We outfitted these rods with great components and are confident that when you have this in your hand you will instantly see the value.
