The ground loop isolator helps to eliminate noise caused by ground loops. Ground loops occur in a system when you install two or more audio components that connect to ground at different locations in your vehicle or in your house's wiring system. Because the ground-carrying lines are not perfect conductors, different ground points can have a voltage potential between them. This causes current to flow through your audio system's interconnect wiring, causing noise to enter your system. Your ground loop isolator blocks these currents.
This ground loop isolator is ideal for use either in your vehicle's or your home's audio system. In your automobile, the ground loop isolator helps to eliminate engine and alternator noise. In your home, the ground loop isolator can help to get rid of electrical line noise (hum).
1. Points of different electrical potenial in the vehicle body (multiple grounding points)
2. These multiple grounding points cause currents to flow over the audio interconnect wire shields with reuslting noise
3. The ground loop isolator blocks these currents
Installation:
Simply connect your audio components to the ground loop isolator as shown in diagram. This ground loop isolator was designed to eliminate he high frequency whining noise created by too many different ground paths.
Note: Do not connect a ground loop isolator to speaker cable. Your ground loop isolator is designed for audio signals only. Do not connect video cables to your ground loop isolator.
