This M10-II Drop-In 2-in-1 Circular Polarizer + Neutral Density ND 1.8 Filter from Haida combines a solid neutral density filter with a circular polarizer. It is mounted within a drop-in assembly that is made to fit the Haida M10-II Filter Holder. The geared filter ring assembly's external dial allows rotation of the circular polarizer filter to adjust the intensity of its effect.
When in use, this filter's 64x filter factor provides a 6-stop exposure reduction, darkening the entire image, allowing a wider aperture or slower shutter speed than normally required. Slowing the exposure time adds blur and a sense of movement to an image; while widening the aperture provides finer control over depth of field to help isolate the subject of an image.
The filter is made of optical glass for clarity and color fidelity. To prevent internal ghosting and reflections, each surface includes 10 layers of anti-reflection coatings. In addition, the Nano coating provides an additional layer for improved beading when the surface comes in contact with water or oil, allowing for easier cleaning.
The aluminum frame features a geared thumbwheel to rotate the filter to the desired position.The upgraded aluminum alloy frame enables the filter to be closer to the filter holder resulting in better protection.
