The movie version matches the same format used on the Steven Rogers/Captain America dog tags. These appear in a minimalist style and use the SSN as the ID number. The TV show version has more information stamped on the tags and uses a more traditional 8-digit US Army serial number, which would have been issued when he joined the US army in 1943, instead of the 9 digit SSN.
