This Shocks for Rear Hatch may be aging, cracking, rusty connector etc. after long-term use.
Replace rear hatch struts kit when the trunk door have noisy sound or clunky that hard to open and close.
Instead of manually operate, this electric tailgate lift relying an actuator and plug to achieve remote control by key fob, built-in electric motor will driving and guide the electric strut to extend or contract.
Installation of Rear Lift Gate Strut
Keep the tailgate door open on max height.
Unplug plug, use tool to loose old spherical joint, insert one.
Plug liftgate plug, recover inner trim panel.
Use diagnostic scanner to clear error code, clear if show negative/occasional; replace lift struts if show permanent.
Confirm L/R mark on struts before install
Methods to Active Tailgate Remote Function
Push the trunk close button.
Close the tailgate by hand slowly and push the trunk open button.
Use diagnostic scanner to reset control module and push trunk close button.
