The QR2 Wheel-Side is a motorsport-derived quick release made entirely from aluminum. Originally developed by Fanatec for the 2022 BMW M4 GT3 race car, the QR2 system was refined for the demands of sim racing. Its tapered, self-aligning design with spring-loaded locking pins ensures a secure fit between the steering wheel and base. By pushing the wheel onto the base shaft, the QR simply clicks into place. The Fanatec QR2 system transfers power and data from a Fanatec base to a Fanatec wheel securely, while being easy to remove and attach. Wheels can be hot swapped, with no need to restart the sim.
