The Dell EMC PowerEdge R640 is a versatile 1U rack server designed for various data-driven workloads. The R640 supports up to two Xeon Scalable processors, each supporting up to 28 cores per processor. The R640 has 24 DDR4 memory slots, 12x per processor allowing a maximum of 3TB of RAM. The R640 is ideal for dense software-defined storage, virtualization, private cloud, and High-Performance Computing (HPC). The R640 includes multiple ingtegrated nework interface options, including 1GbE, 10GbE and 25GbE, enabling efficien data communication within the server and with external systems. The R640 is configurable with 10 x 2.5", 8 x 2.5" or 4 x 3.5" hard drives on the front panel, with optional support for 2 x 2.5" hard drives on the back panel. The PowerEdge R640 is easily deployable and can scale from 3 to +1000 nodes for software-defined storage using Dell EMC VxFlex Ready Nodes.
