ColorTone Aerosol Guitar Lacquer, Deep Black Opaque
High-intensity black lacquer finish used on models like the LP Custom "Black Beauty." When paired with gold hardware, it gives the guitar a unique elegance.
Application Guide:
Apply over sanded bare wood or ColorTone-compatible fillers, sealers, or stains. The surface should be smooth—wood pores filled and grain level.
Hold the can 12–14 inches from the surface and spray light, even passes. Start horizontally, then go vertically over the same area.
Apply several thin coats. Let each coat dry for at least 24 hours. Lightly sand between coats to remove dust or imperfections.
Important: For metallic colors, do not sand the final color coat before clear coats—this preserves the metallic effect.
Build coats until the surface is even and ready for final finishing.
How many cans do I need?
Depends on your technique and desired thickness. Some projects use one can, but two are recommended for best results.
Spraying conditions:
Spray in stable temperatures of 70–75°F (21–24°C) with low humidity. Avoid extremes to prevent blushing, shrinking, or cracking.
Where to spray:
Use a clean, dust-free space. Control temperature and humidity during spraying and drying for the best finish.
Should I sand between coats?
Not always required, but recommended if dust or particles settle before the next coat.
