The 0119-8000 Josey-Mitchell Short Stop bit from Reinsman is a purpose-built transitional tool for the serious equestrian. Co-developed by barrel racing legend Martha Josey, this "Stage B" bit is expertly engineered to guide a horse from direct reining to sophisticated neck reining. Its design introduces key concepts like leverage and curb pressure through 4-inch shanks, which encourage the horse to soften at the poll and achieve the vertical flexion necessary for one-handed riding.

The mouthpiece is a complex 3-piece "dogbone" design, crafted from alternating copper and sweet iron.
