The Imperial Fence Height Gauge for the Domino XL DF700 makes adjusting the fence offset fast and precise, eliminating the need for a separate measuring tool for your dimensional lumber sized in inches. Installation takes less than a minute with a Torx T10 bit (not included), and the gauge directly replaces the standard metric version supplied with the Domino XL DF700. Unlike the factory metric fence height gauge, which offers only five preset offsets, our Imperial versions provide expanded options. We currently offer three models: Model 1: 5/8”, 3/4“, 7/8”, 1”, 1-1/8" Model 2: 1”, 1-1/8”, 1-1/4”, 1-3/8”, 1-1/2” Model 3: 5/8”, 3/4”, 1”, 1-1/4”, 1-1/2” All models include a reminder at the front of the gauge that the minimum setting outside of the gauge is 10mm. It's important to understand the distinction between a height gauge and a thickness gauge. On the DF700, the factory-supplied height gauge indicates the true distance from the fence to the cutter centerline. By contrast, the DF500 comes with a thickness gauge, where the indicated measurement represents the nominal material thickness for centering the mortise—meaning the actual fence-to-cutter distance is roughly half the marked dimension. The measurements shown on our Imperial Fence Height Gauge for the Domino XL always reflect the precise distance between the fence and the cutter centerline.
