Electronic Engine Controller
The DSE Genset Controller DSE501K is a manual engine control module designed to manually control the engine via a key switch on the front panel of the t. DSE genset controller DSE501K used to start and stop the engine, indicating fault conditions; Automatically shuts down the engine and indicates engine failure via LEDs, giving a true first fault notification.
The controller 501K module is operated by a three-position key switch mounted on the front panel with STOP(O), RUN(I) and START(II) positions. In the "O" position, the power supply is removed from the module, the running relay, and the alarm output are de-energized. If the switch goes to the "I" position, the module is energized, the running relay is energized, the engine fuel / ignition system is activated, and the protective pause timer is activated. If the switch is moved to the "II" position and held against the spring , a forward supply is applied to the relevant output terminals and the starter motor. After the engine starts, the switch should be released and allowed to to the "I" position.
DSE DSE501K generator controller running any of the following alarms; Low oil pressure, high engine temperature, auxiliary shutdown, overspeed (optional), will cause the running relay to be de-energized. This will remove the fuel / ignition from the engine and bring it to a stop. The alarm output will be activated, providing a positive output.
Each alarm channel has its own LED indicator, and once activated, no further alarm conditions will be accepted. The alarm output and associated LEDs will remain active until the device is reset by turning the switch to the "O" position.
Overspeed protection (optional) is achieved by installing an additional PCB in the module. This provides overall overspeed protection from the generator HZ output or the engine's magnetic picker (specified at the time of ordering). The overspeed circuit monitors the engine speed and shuts down the engine immediately if the preset speed level is exceeded. This trip level is adjustable between 90% and 130% of the full rated speed for 50Hz or 60Hz systems.
During engine start-up and for a short period of time thereafter, the protection pause timer is active and the associated alarm input is disabled. This allows the engine to start and normal operating conditions. Once the timer expires, the input is enabled, providing normal protection from the module.
By monitoring the WL terminals on the charging alternator, charging failure warnings can also be provided. It works similarly to a warning light installed in a motor vehicle, and if the output fails, the charging failure LED illuminates. The module will also supply the alternator excitation current through this connection.
