Modulino Extender is a compact, plug-and-play module that simply extends I2C lines. The I2C protocol is popular and easy to use, but optimal only for short-range communication. By adding Modulino Extender, you can boost the signal to reach devices even across larger installations or enclosures – hassle free! Modulino Extender can extend I²C signals up to approximately 30 meters (≈100 ft) when operating at 100 kHz, which is the default communication speed used by the Modulino library (please note: actual maximum distance may vary depending on cable quality, wiring topology, and the number of connected devices). Part of the Arduino ecosystem, Modulino Extender connects in seconds using the included 5-cm Qwiic cable. There's no wiring to troubleshoot and no soldering required. Simply plug it into a compatible Arduino board – such as UNO Q, UNO R4 WiFi, Nesso N1, Nano R4, and the Nano Connector Carrier – or use a Qwiic-to-breadboard jumper or the convenient side headers with other 3.3 V Arduino boards. Expansion is seamless: daisy-chain additional Modulino sensors or actuators, and they work together as a unified system. Modulino Extender is fully hardware-based and does not require any additional libraries. With a robust design made for education, hobby electronics, and professional prototyping, Modulino Extender is a reliable, ready-to-use module that helps you grow into bigger IoT projects and experiment with greater ideas than ever before!
