Hand Reamers are widely used for final sizing of drilled holes. The square on the shank end is suitable for holding in a tap wrench or vise. The cutting edge is ground with a starting taper to provide easy entry. The helical reamer is preferred where there is an interruption to the cut, such as a keyway. High-speed steel tools are good for most general purpose applications, offering a combination of hardness and toughness for wear resistance. Available in uncoated (bright) and black oxide finish. Comes with round shank with square end. When run in a counterclockwise direction (right-hand cut) spiral fluted tools evacuate chips up and out of the cut to reduce clogging.
