1、Properties of full ceramic materials
Ceramic Bearings including components made from ceramic have the special properties that steel bearings do not have such as being non-magnetic or insulating. They can be used in new applications where conventional bearings have not been practical.
Ceramic Bearings are highly heat resistant enabling a rolling bearing to be practical in a high temperature environment. The low density of ceramic decreases the centrifugal force induced by rolling elements (balls or rollers) contributing to an increased speed of the apparatus.
2、Structure of full ceramic Bearings
Full ceramic (All-ceramic) bearing of Si3N4 material
Full ceramic bearing made with Si3N4 have some better performance than ZrO2 the rings and balls made by full ceramic material:Si3N4 as a standard construction the cage made by PTFE Compares than the material of ZrO2 The SiN4 ceramics bearings could endure heavier load and could be used in higher temperature environment.
3、Application of full ceramic Bearings
Based on the characteristics comparison between various types of ceramic materials and the test results for their withstand loads these materials were evaluated from the viewpoint of their suitability for bearings. The results are as shown in Table.
