NC refers to the normally closed contact. When the surge protector is normal, NC and COM are in a closed (short circuit) state. If the surge protector is broken, NC and COM will become open circuit. NO refers to the normally open contact. When the surge protector is normal, there is an open circuit between NO and COM. If the surge protector is broken, NC and COM will become closed (short circuit).
