The ELG WCFH is a Full HD 1080p USB webcam built for clear video calls, work meetings, online classes, and live streams. It pairs an autofocus lens with a built-in noise-cancelling microphone, adds a sliding privacy cover and a 360° multifunctional base, and includes a USB-A to USB-C adapter in the box. It plugs into any USB port and works on Windows, macOS, and Linux with no software to install.

How sharp is the video, and does it stay in focus?
The WCFH captures Full HD 1080p — a clear upgrade over 720p webcams, and the resolution most video platforms display at their best. The autofocus lens adjusts automatically to keep your face sharp as you lean toward the screen, sit back, or move around, which is where fixed-focus budget webcams tend to go soft and blurry. It records and streams in standard MJPG and YUY2 video modes that Zoom, Microsoft Teams, Skype, Google Meet, and OBS all recognize automatically. Note: the sensor's maximum resolution is 1080p — this is a Full HD camera, not a 4K camera.

Will people hear me clearly without a separate microphone?
Yes — the microphone is built into the webcam, so there is nothing extra to plug in. It uses noise cancelling to reduce steady background sound and keep your voice clear on calls and recordings. For everyday meetings, classes, and video chats it removes the need for a headset. If you are recording professional audio or sitting in a room with a lot of hard-surface echo, an external microphone will still sound better — but for standard video calls, the built-in mic does the job.

Can I cover the camera when I'm not using it?
Yes. The WCFH has a sliding privacy cover built into the front of the camera. Slide it across and it physically blocks the lens — no software switch, no light you have to trust. This is a hardware cover, which is why privacy-conscious buyers and IT departments prefer it over camera off-toggles that live in an app. It is useful at home, in an open office, and on any shared or work-issued computer.

How do I mount it — and does it come with a tripod?
The WCFH uses a multifunctional base. The adjustable clip opens to sit securely on top of a monitor or laptop screen, folds flat to stand on a desk, and has a thread on the bottom to mount on a tripod. The camera head rotates a full 360°, so you can turn it toward yourself, a group at the table, or a whiteboard behind you. A tripod is not included — if you want to use one, any standard webcam tripod will fit the base.

Does it work with my computer — including Mac and USB-C laptops?
The WCFH is USB plug-and-play. Connect it and your computer detects and installs the drivers automatically — no software or app to download. It works with Windows (XP, Vista, 7, 8, 10), macOS 10.6 and above, and Linux (kernel 2.6.24+). Because newer laptops and desktops often have only USB-C ports, a USB-A to USB-C adapter is included in the box, so the webcam connects to older and newer machines alike. Tip: if your computer already has a built-in camera, select the WCFH as the active camera in your video app, and on a desktop, use a USB port on the back for the most stable connection.
